Fred “Freddy” Buchnoff, Jr. was born on June 28, 1953 in Fresno and went to be with the lord on January 11, 2013.
Freddy graduated from Madera High School in 1971. Growing up on the family farm in Madera, Freddy had farming in his blood and spent most of his career in the agriculture industry. He met the love of his life Pam, and they were married in 1984. Soon after they had two children, Sarah and Mark, and settled down in Northeast Fresno. Throughout his life, his greatest joy was watching his children grow up and then relishing in the joy of being “Pop Pop” to his beloved granddaughters. Freddy never went anywhere without running into someone he knew; always taking the time to say hello and catch up. On the occasion he went someplace where he did not know anyone; you can bet he made a new friend by the end. His wife Pam was with him every step of the way and they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this February. He always aimed higher than he could reach…constantly shooting for the stars and his family now takes great comfort in knowing he finally made it.
Freddy is survived by his wife Pam, son Mark, daughter Sarah Heisdorf, son-in-law Joe Heisdorf, and granddaughters Juliette and Madeline Heisdorf. He is also survived by his parents Fred and Anna Buchnoff, brother Martin and his wife Beverly, sisters Annette Buchnoff, Kathleen Kirn and her husband Mike, and Manya Waggoner and her husband Derek, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Freddy’s name to their favorite charity.
