Adeline
Caeton
December 14, 1939 – June 20, 2024
Our beloved Mother has passed and will be missed by many.
Adeline Alcoser was born on December 14, 1939, to Joe and Ascension Alcoser in Hanford. When Adeline was two years old, the Alcoser family moved to Laton, where she attended grade school and high school. She married Lionel Caeton and moved to Dos Palos to live on Turner Island Farms, and raise their three daughters: Carolyn, Roberta, and Rebecca.
Adeline obtained her Cosmetologist license when her daughters were young but went on to work for Turner Island Farms. She started working at Tri-Valley Growers in 1974 and left after 25 years. During that time, she also worked for Fast Boy Market. In 1982, Adeline and her daughters moved to Santa Nella. She worked at Walmart for seven years and retired from the Los Banos Unified School District after seven years of dedicated service. In 2014, she moved to Fresno, where she spent the last years of her life.
Adeline was a fierce, kind, generous, caregiving, free-spirited and loving woman. She was a talented seamstress who loved making clothes for her daughters when they were children, and for her grandchildren. She loved helping her daughter sew curtains and pillows for vintage trailers. She entered many of her projects of embroidery into the Los Banos May Day Fair contests and won ribbons for her work. She took trips to Sacramento to work with Carol at TNT to help during the busy season and enjoyed it. Adeline loved walking on the beach in Cayucos, going to the movie theater, baking Portuguese sweet bread for her family and watching Cowboy & Indian movies. Some of her favorites were Last of the Mohicans, The Man From Snowy River and Dances With Wolves. However, her favorite thing, and what she will be remembered for the most by everyone who knew her, was singing and dancing to the love of her life, Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn Fannin (Shannon), Roberta Giomi (Joe), and Rebecca Ingram (William); five grandchildren: Shannon M. Fannin, Shawn Fannin, Alysha Nazabal-Bell (Aaron), Nicolas Nazabal, and Jessica Giom; four stepchildren: Michael Caeton, Lee Caeton, Christine Connelly and Annette Kostelec; her siblings: Lydia Ottinger, Gilbert Alcoser, Emily Sims, Rudy Alcoser, Pauline "Becky" Thomas, Dorothy Alcoser, and Barbara Pitt. She is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph, mother Ascension, brother Joe and fred.
