Alice Murrieta was born May 15, 1930 in Calexico, Ca and went home to Jesus on August 7, 2024. She is survived by her children Marilyn Surrell, Ernestine Hernandez, and Freddie (Sylvia)Murrieta; her grandchildren Judy (Darin) Tsujioka, Nicole Surrell, Joaquin (Andrea) Murrieta, Paz (Gabriel) Delsid, Matthew (Melissa) Hernandez, 10 great-grandchildren (Jake, Madison, Savannah, Lauren, Lanie, Marco, Libby, Lucy, Ruby, Mia) and one great-great-grandchild (Emery).
She and her husband, Ralph, settled in Malaga, Ca after his discharge from the US Army, Together, they followed the seasonal crops, working as farm laborers. As time went on she became a homemaker, raising her three children.
Alice was a talented artist. Her art ranged from crocheted garments for all newborn family members, to landscape or still life oil paintings and most notably, clay sculptures. Many items were displayed, throughout the years, at the Fresno Fair, where she won numerous awards and ribbons. A woman of few words, she shared her love with the dishes she made for all family gatherings.
She believed in Jesus Christ and is home now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father, sparring once again with her husband, Ralph.
