Obituary

Anne Krikorian 98 years old, passed away on June 3, 2010 of natural causes in Tucson, AZ. She was born on July 28, 1911 in Mendocino, CA to Italian immigrant parents, Bernadina and Gaspar Valena. She was the third child of eight children, who all preceded her in death. She was raised in Santa Rosa, CA where she attended elementary and high school. She received her nurses training at St. Joseph School of Nursing in San Francisco, CA. After graduation, she became a Registered Nurse. She practiced her profession with dignity, kindness and love in hospitals in Fresno and Fowler, CA. On July 1, 1937, she married Levon (Leo) Krikorian in Fresno, CA and they were happily married for over 62 years before he passed away in May of 2000. She lived in Fowler, CA from 1937 to 2001 when she relocated to Tucson. She was a life member of the Fowler Improvement Association, the Women's Guild of the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church and in 1993, she and her husband were honored as Pioneers of the Fowler Fall Festival. She was an avid bridge player and during her lifetime played in many bridge groups in Fowler, Fresno and Tucson. All who knew her saw a gentle spirit with a bright smile and a kind word about everyone. She is survived by her loving children, Ginny Clements (Tom Rogers) of Tucson, AZ, Douglas Krikorian and his fiancée, Kathy Heddy Drum, of Long Beach, CA; three grandchildren, Kimberly Clements (Scott MacKenzie), Christopher Clements (Sasha), of Tucson, AZ, Leigh Ann Kelley (Tom) of Milwaukee, WI; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Clements and Colt MacKenzie of Tucson, Dannielle Kelley of Tempe, AZ, Dillon Kelley of Milwaukee, WI and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 3201 E. Presidio, Tucson, AZ. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 12, 2010 at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Fresno, CA with burial at the Ararat Cemetery. The YOST AND WEBB FUNERAL HOME will be handling the arrangements. Donations in her name may be made to the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 537 "M" Street, Fresno, CA 93721-3005. The family would especially like to thank Sharon Kasle, Delfina Dominguez and Rachel Coyle, for the love and wonderful care they gave to her, the many friends and family who showed countless kindnesses throughout the years, those who came to visit her at the Forum, the staff at Broadway Proper and nurses at The Forum in Tucson, AZ.
