Carmen Paniagua, 77, of Fresno, went home to the Lord on March 24 of natural causes.  She was surrounded by her loving children at the time she passed.

Carmen was born on June 17, 1945, in Tepic Nayarit, Mexico.  As a young woman, Carmen moved to California where she raised her family.  While raising her five children, she worked numerous jobs to provide for her children.

As a mother and grandmother, she was generous, loving, kind and a remarkable cook.  She showed her love for her family by preparing amazing Mexican food such as birria, tamales and her delicious posole.  One of Carmen's greatest joys was spending time in the kitchen with her grandchildren making tortillas.

Carmen is predeceased by her son, Juan Nieblas.   She is survived by her five children: Jimmy Nieblas, Betty Burback, Judy Gansen, Arlene Banuelos, and Eddie Morales.  Carmen is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Bryan Bustamante, Matthew Burback, Austin Burback, Katrina Medrano, Aaron Burback, Melissa Medrano, Nathan Nieblas, Darren Banuelos, Ryan Banuelos, Audrina Banuelos and Marley Morales.

Carmen was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.  Carmen will be greatly missed by her loving family.

"We know that we can't have you here on earth, but we're happy knowing we all have an Angel looking down on us.  Goodbye to a wonderful woman and beautiful mother."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 9:45 am, at the Yost and Webb Funeral Home (1002 T St., Fresno, CA).  A reception will be held afterwards at the Fresno Police Officers Association (994 N. Van Ness) at 12 pm.
