Obituary

Carolyn Lee Reiter
1940 - 2022

Carolyn was born in Fresno Ca. December 15,1940 to Merman And Elois Hendrix. She passed away peacefully May 18th after a 7 year valiant battle of lung cancer.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Fresno and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958 and then went on to Federico's Beauty College. She went on to work in several High End shops for the next several years and competed in multiple hairstyling competitions.

Then Carolyn met and married Ed Reiter August 27th 1960 and they started their family in 1961 with Dana and then Michael was born in 1966. Family gatherings were always the high point with all of the Aunts/Uncles cousins and grandparents.

Ed and Carolyn bought San Joaquin Tire of which Carolyn worked in the office and Ed worked in the shop and ran 24hour road service for the next 30 years. During this time racing became the main activity with quarter midgets and then micro midgets. The family spent countless hours at various race tracks with Mom loving every minute cheering on Michael, helping run the snack bar and just spending time together as a family.

The next chapter was the blessing of 2 beautiful granddaughters, Morgan and Marla. Carolyn became Grandma Carolyn not only to Morgan and Marla but to their friends and the Lake kids as well. She loved going to all of the T-Ball and then Softball games and cheering the girls on. This also allowed her to travel more, going to Southern Ca for Morgans games and to Utah and Hawaii for Marla's games. She was so proud of her beautiful granddaughters. Grandma Carolyn loved spending time with the whole consolidated Lake and Reiter families for all of the get togethers.

Carolyn also loved to go on trips to the coast, camping in the Gold Country and panning for gold with Dana and Joe and loved being pampered on the trip with Dana to Hawaii with the Bank.

Then the Blessing of 2 great grand kids Ryanne and Ryder. Grandma Carolyn had already started her battle with Lung Cancer but always wanted to spend time with those 2 special babies that she loved so dearly. Watching them grow and play kept her heart full and motivated.

Grandma Carolyn spent her final 3 weeks at Dana's house with Bristol Hospice care, enjoying looking out the slider at the birds, enjoying family coming over and listening to the sirens and saying there goes Marla on the fire truck.

Frank and Dana spent time praying with her and singing her favorite hymns. Faith and Family was so important to her and comforted her so much in those final days. Mom, Grandma Carolyn you were loved dearly and will be missed but we see you again in Heaven.
