Obituary

Catherine "Carrie" Ann Avedisian aka Mom-Carrie, September 18, 1959 – February 8, 2021.

Carrie is survived by her husband and the love of her life of 29 years, Dennis, her children, Rebecca, and son-in-law, Lee Stasio, Misty, and Brett, her grandchildren Haley, Thomas, and Lucas, her mother, Mary Patrick, her siblings Steven Patrick and his wife, Candy, John Patrick and his wife Debbie, and Judy Garabedian, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Chief Master Sergeant Gene B. Patrick, Retired, her sister Mary Teresa Patrick, and her beloved nephew Ryan Patrick.

Carrie was born in Maine and traveled the US due to being an Airforce "brat". This created a strong, intelligent, feisty woman with a heart full of love. After calling many places "home", the Patricks finally found home in Fresno in 1972.

Carrie worked as a legal secretary for over 30 years and was known for writing very interesting, terse "letters". Carrie's backyard was her happy place. There, her gutah garden was her pride and joy. Summers were full of pool parties with all of her "children" where the food could feed an army, the laughter warranted noise complaints, and shenanigans from all took place. Her favorite time was spent at Cayucos and San Francisco with her husband, children and extended family, the Frankians. She was a Giants baseball lover at heart! Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and all her Mom-Carrie children, who she showered with strong, hard love. She might've only had 3 children, but she was Mom to many and loved them like her own.

A quote that sums her up perfectly: "There is an instinct in a woman to Love most her own child; and an instinct to make any child who needs her love her own."

We can all remember her favorite saying "thang", her extreme disgust of chicken juice and beef with any semblance of pink, her love of Denny's pilaf and Big Steve's salsa.

In remembrance, please donate to the Jr. Giants Foundation or the Central Valley Veterans, Fresno in her honor.

Services will be held later in the summer due to COVID.
