Charles Ferreira,
Jr
June 7, 1948 – June 13, 2021
Charles Ferreira Jr. passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2021, at the age of 73. Chuck was born in Fresno, CA, on June 7, 1948, to Charles and Betty Ferreira. He attended Arroyo Grande High School, Fowler High School, and Roosevelt High School, with the graduating class of 1966. Soon after graduation, Chuck followed in his father's footsteps and began working in construction as a laborer and working his way up to operating heavy equipment traveling back and forth between California and North Carolina. Along the way, he picked up an eye for framing and became a highly skilled framing carpenter. In 1973, Chuck and his brothers, Monty and Ronnie, obtained their first California Contractors License and went into business for themselves as Overland Construction. In the early 1980s, the brothers moved on to other paths but Chuck stayed with framing and started Charles Ferreira General Building in 1985. From that time until his retirement in 2020, he compiled an impressive build resume covering hundreds of custom homes, apartment complexes, commercial buildings, and remodels all over the Central Valley. After nearly fifty years in business, Chuck decided to retire in the fall of 2020 with a plan to spend his time with family and friends.
Chuck will be remembered as an active member of the community in the City of Fowler, a member of the City of Fowler Lion's Club, the Pharaohs Car Club, the Central Valley Harley Davidson community, a classic car collector, a NASCAR fan, and as a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend that you could always count on.
Chuck is survived by Gail, his wife of 18 years, by his two sons, Anthony Ferreira, of Fresno, and his wife, Heather, Nick Ferreira, of Clovis, CA, and his wife, Kacie, by his daughter, Isha Kirby, of Okarche, OK, and her husband, Chance, by his stepson, Jason Schiavon, of Fresno, and his wife, Alex, by his nine grandchildren, Zack, Paige, Hunter, Ethan, Maddox, Madeline, Ryker, Aaron, and Ashton, by his two great-grandchildren, by his brother, Monty Ferreira, of Fresno, by his sister, Brenda King, of Red Bluff, CA, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his friends who Chuck always considered his family. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Charles, and his brother, Ronnie.
Visitation will be at Yost and Webb Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 22, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Fowler Cemetery on Wednesday, June 23, at 10:00 AM. A Memorial Lunch will follow at CPDES Hall in Easton, CA and all are welcome.
