Obituary

Charles Wyatt Phipps

Born May 7, 1957 in Fresno, California

Died January 31, 2026 in Catheys Valley, California

It is with deepest sympathy and heart-breaking passing of Charles Wyatt Phipps (known as Wyatt Phipps). His death was exactly two months from the passing of his father Ray Phipps which the family was still morning.

Wyatt grew up in Fresno, California where he attended McLane High School. A year or two after school, Wyatt joined the United Stated Navy for approximately six years. During his time with the Navy, he injured himself while on a training exercise. Wyatt returned home where he pursued welding and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service. After a few years, he was disabled from previous injuries.

Within the past decade, Wyatt was very loyal and helpful as a caregiver of his dad and stepmother while living on the property in Catheys Valley. Wyatt assisted in getting groceries and medications for them and making sure they were comfortable. In addition, Wyatt maintained and kept the entire property (several acres) mowed from the hillside weeds each season as best he could from his disabilities. This task alone took many days to complete.

Wyatt loved to go fishing with his brother and dad. Those were his good times and special memories of his life.

Though Wyatt had no children, he had many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews which he looked forward to seeing on holidays and special occasions.

Wyatt is preceded in death by his father Ray Richard Phipps.

Wyatt is survived by his mother Frances Phipps and his sister Lana Fernandez, brother Jay Phipps and wife Evelyn and sister Laureen Hill and husband Victor. He is also survived by his stepmother Alice Phipps and stepsister Karen Villarreal and husband Art and stepsister Kathy Crain and husband Mike.

Wyatt also leaves behind nieces Jocelyn Vartanian, Stefani Fernandez, Alyssa Phipps, Christa Jackson and nephews Sammy Fernandez, Joey Phipps, Larry (LJ) Jackson. He leaves behind his grandnieces Aria Fernandez, Monroe Vartanian and grandnephews Kyndrick Fernandez and Flint Jackson.
