Born in Los Angeles, CA
Daughter of Mario Vega Sr. and Rosa Vega, whom are deceased.
Siblings: Alejandra Vega, Mauricio Vega, Mario Vega Jr., and Manuel A. Vega
Nieces & Nephews: Vanessa Vega, Manuel Vega Jr., Andrew Vega, Mario J. Vega,
Carmi Vega, Nuvia Vega, Natalia Vega, and Quentin Vega.
Concepción Vega was born on September 10, 1973, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents were Mario and Rosa Vega. She spent her childhood in the San Fernando Valley in the city of Sun Valley. As a child, she was known as 'Conchita,' but upon moving to Fresno at the end of 1989, she began using 'Connie' as her name.
She was the third child of Mario and Rosa Vega's children. Alejandra and Mauricio were her older siblings. Mario and Manuel were her younger siblings. She was an aunt to several nieces and nephews: Vanessa Vega, Manuel Vega Jr., Andrew Vega, Mario J. Vega, Carmi Vega, Nuvia Vega, Natalia Vega, and Quentin Vega. She loved them very much and always kept them in mind. She liked playing with them and buying them little things. In the congregation, she had adoptive nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, such as Samuel and Ava Aguayo and Oskar and Kenthia Toscano. She loved her family immensely.
She graduated from Fresno High School in 1992. She worked all her life until her illness prevented her. She was an exemplary employee, earning several awards such as employee of the month and even employee of the year. She liked sweets and always had candy with her. Her favorite drink was Pepsi so much so that people would jokingly tell her she was a "Pepsi addict." She loved to dance and listen to music. Her favorite male singer was Luis Miguel. She liked to dance to Selena's music or music that had rhythm to dance too. She was a good friend full of joy. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends in various activities: preaching, lunch dates, movie dates, and 1-day or weekend trips out of town.
She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on July 17, 1995. As a faithful Jehovah's Witness, she regularly attended all congregation meetings and went out to preach often. When her illness reached the point that it no longer allowed her to drive her car, she sought out sisters who could take her to meetings and assemblies. She did everything possible in her circumstances and remained faithful to Jehovah. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she attended via Zoom and did not miss a single meeting. As her illness progressed and her mental faculties declined, she never forgot Jehovah. She knew that Jehovah loved her and cared for her. In times of distress, just a small prayer to Jehovah God would calm her. Every day upon waking, she thanked Jehovah God for His love, support and hope for a better world, and at night as well. The last thing she always heard at the end of her day was "Jehovah loves you, Connie. Do not be afraid. Jehovah loves you." She never strayed and followed the Jehovah's moral principles that she had learned since childhood. She trusted Jehovah fully and in His promise of a better world in paradise. She was faithful and loyal until the very end.
"With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.+ 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,+ and death will be no more,+ neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.+ The former things have passed away." – Revelations 21:3-4
"Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice+ 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.+ 30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous+ because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me." – John 5:28-29
"Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life.+ The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life" – John 11:25
"And the One seated on the throne+ said: "Look! I am making all things new."+ Also he says: "Write, for these words are faithful* and true."—Revelation 21:5
