Daniel Lee Henley passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 surrounded by family. We are comforted to know he is reunited with his father and friends he has missed dearly in heaven.

Dan was born on May 3, 1956 to Lee & Joyce Henley in Fresno, California. The eldest of four, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers Keith and Brian, and his sister, Cara. He was curious and adventurous from a young age, often helping his father at construction sites, which inspired his passion for fixing and improving anything he could touch. He turned his passion into a career working primarily as a Plumber and retiring in 2019 as the Senior Warehouseman at Slakey Brothers. He was generous with his time and knowledge both at work and in his personal life, always offering a helping hand or advice to anyone who would ask.

Dan married Teddy Light on March 21, 1981. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary earlier this year and shared memories of their life together. They met in high school when Teddy and her family moved to Fresno, and immediately became inseparable, sharing many hobbies including traveling, boating on the lake, listening to music, watching shows and enjoying time together in their backyard. Their two children, Megan & Alex, were inspired to be brave and kind by watching Dan lead by example. They would chant, ‘Dan, Dan the Boat Man’ as he shared with his family his love for the water and his talent for building boat engines. There was nothing too big or too small that Dan would not try to accomplish, leaving his family with that same spirit.

He loved to talk. He loved to share. He loved to help. He didn’t know strangers, only people he hadn’t had the chance to meet yet. He volunteered at church and was proud of his work in the kitchen. Of all his hobbies and activities, his greatest joy was being a dad. He was everyone’s favorite uncle. He was everyone’s favorite phone call. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Teddy, his daughter, Megan, his son, Alex, and his daughter-in-law, Jolie.

The family would be grateful to hear memories from Dan’s family & friends. Celebration of Life will be held at the Henley residence on Saturday October 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Invites will be sent with additional details. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you make memorial tributes to causes or organizations of your choosing.
