Darren Leon Yockey
"GRAZER"

In October 1970 Darren was born in Fresno, California with DIMPLES on his cheeks, to Russell and Marlyne Yockey. By the age of four, he already had a great love for trucks.  His first job was washing trucks for Center State and he quickly got to move the trucks around the yard, long before he could even drive a car.

Darren graduated from Central High School in 1988.  He had many interests which included woodworking, drawing, collecting Hot Wheels and Driving Truck.

He began his 25-year career driving a variety of units for several companies. He drove many years for David Key Trucking, then some time at Brad Johnson Trucking, then onto Nish-Ko.

When Darren wasn't busy driving truck, he liked to help family and friends, no matter what the project was. His own recent project kept him very busy, and he was extremely happy when his nieces and nephews were happy to spend their time helping him.

During the holidays, Darren also enjoyed dressing up as Santa for the little kids.

He is survived by his parents, Russell and Marlyne Yockey, his siblings Brian Yockey and Lynette and Steven Johnson, his nephews Russell and Matheu, his nieces Annette and Natalie as well as his HUGE Hot Wheels collection.

A Celebration of Life

will be held on September 9, 2023 from
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the home of Russell and Marlyne Yockey
