David Harold
Coker
April 19, 2026
With deep sorrow, the family of David Harold Coker announce his death. He was born on December 1, 1943 and passed away on April 19, 2026 at the age of 82. David was predeceased by his beloved wife Michelina Santora in 2010.
David proudly served his country in the Air Force which included a tour in Vietnam and he was always very patriotic.
David enjoyed sports and was a good athlete. His favorite was golf which he excelled at. He played on his high school team, his college team and the United States Air Force team. Golf was a great joy for him, whether playing in a tournament or enjoying a casual game with friends.
David was a civil engineer with the City of Fresno. He was well respected by his peers, not only for his quality of work and precision attentiveness to all projects, but for the way he treated everybody.
David was a kind, generous, intelligent man with a great sense of humor.
He was always so considerate and helpful, not only to those who loved him, but to all who knew him as well as somebody he may have had a conversation with in the grocery store. He was extremely interesting to talk with and had a wide range of knowledge. Smart and active, he could build a fence or cook a casserole.
Working in the yard was always something David enjoyed. He had beautiful flowers and trees and built a gazebo with a large bird bath beside it for any animals that might need a safe place to rest and have some water.
Animals were always a huge part of David’s life. He absolutely loved all of them, but especially the cats and dogs which he shared his life with over the years. There were many wonderful ones. At the time of his passing, he had two senior dogs who were so happy and so well taken care of.
The family will miss David very much, a truly wonderful man. We are so grateful for the blessings he created all his life and we knew of his strong faith in God.
Survived by brother Charles Coker (Beverly), sister Helen Coker Siegal, nephew Grant Siegal, niece Amy Bernier (Roger), nephew Charlie Coker, great nephew Justin Siegal, great nephew Dylan Bernier.
