On Monday, June 19, 2023, Ellen Maxine Goertzen passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Dewayne of 66 years; her daughter, Cheryl Rosander (husband Lee); sons, Douglas Goertzen (wife Kim) and Jeff Goertzen.  She was tremendously proud of her 6 grandsons: Justin Rosander, Ryan Rosander (fiance' Nadia), Michael Goertzen (fiance' Maria), Brandon Rosander, Matthew Goertzen and Christopher Goertzen. She also loved being Great-Grandma to Zachary Goertzen. She is also missed by her beloved dachshund, Heidi.

Ellen was born in Reedley, California, on October 9, 1938 to Willie and Florenda Heinrichs.  She was the oldest of 4 siblings: Muriel Quenzer (Ken), Ken Heinrichs (Roberta) and Rod Heinrichs (Jan).  Ellen went to Immanuel High School in Reedley, where she met her future husband, Dewayne Goertzen.  She graduated in 1956 and married Dewayne that same year on October 12.

Ellen was active in all of her children's activities, and as they got older, she became a Certified Nurse's Aid. She then was the bookkeeper for their business, Goertzen Auto Parts and later for Sebring West.  Ellen and Dewayne retired together in December 2018.

Ellen enjoyed traveling to many different destinations and cruising with Dewayne and their family.  She loved a good book to read and spent a lot of time in her garden.  She was also fond of angels and has now become "our angel" and is with our Lord Jesus, whom she loved and cherished her entire life.
