We are sad to announce the passing of Elwayne Talbert who passed in his sleep on June 6, 2023.

Elwayne was born on October 11, 1954 in Santa Maria, California. He was primarily raised in the San Joaquin Valley and became a lifetime resident of Madera, California.

Elwayne was preceded in death by his father, Elwaine Tolbert, his mother, Willie Mae Tolbert, his brothers Marcel and Charles Tolbert. He leaves behind a wife, Barbara McGuire-Talbert, a daughter, Latisha Tolbert, and a step son Sky McGuire

There are countless stories of this cowboy named Elwayne Talbert and the wild rides he took with his cowboy brothers, all childhood friends, as they traveled together on the rodeo circuit. Brothers like none other.

To know him was to love him deep down in your soul. He loved people, but especially children, and he knew no strangers. His joy, in just living, became part of you, if you were blessed to be in his company for even a short time. He was genuine, and a truly beautiful soul. The world will be a completely different and darker place without his sunshine, that he offered with no strings, or for personal gain. His heart was that of a servant. His humility and love for others came from his heart and he could brighten every room no matter where he went.
