Felix Alva Picazo

Our loving father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, passed away on July 21st after a brief illness. He was 94 years old. He is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Guerrero, sister Maria Luisa Carrillo, son-in-law Joe Blancarte and granddaughter Nicole Irish.

He is survived by his wife; Elvira Lopez, children; Yolanda Blancarte, John Picazo and Marie (Cokie) Picazo, grandchildren; Monica Velasquez, Orlando Blancarte, Maria Stevens, Anthony Picazo, Felicia Picazo, GeorgiaLee Weber, John Picazo Jr, Danielle Fonseca Sanchez, Anthony Golding, George Golding and 15 great grandchildren.

Felix was born in Los Angeles to Modesta Alva and Carlos Picazo. He was a boxer in his youth and very much loved drawing, painting and dancing. He will be remembered for working tirelessly for his family. He had been employed as a farm laborer, barber and retired after several years at Gallo Winery.

His age never stopped him from rising early to get ready, as he was always had his mustache and hair groomed meticulously and was a very handsome man. He adored the frequent comments that he didn't look his age. Dressing up in his Sunday clothes and going to breakfast or an outing to Table Mountain were the highlights of his later years. And if he was staying home he looked forward to his loving daughter Cokie coming over every morning to bring him the paper and share a cup of coffee and a quick chat before work.

Felix will always be remembered for his love of talking, making friends and being a good father and grandfather. We will hold the memories of him in our heart and be comforted knowing that he is dancing in heaven with grandma, and all of his loved ones.
