George passed peacefully away from this life into the loving arms of God on January 30, 2023. George was a loving father, grandfather, and husband to Bernice Buck and his 9 children Valerie, Therese, Gail, Vickie, Mary Kay, Vanessa, Jeannie, George Jr, and Margaret. George was born in Oakland, California on June 16, 1932 to Alma and Herbert Buck. He had 2 siblings Herbert and Phyllis who he loved dearly. George attended San Jose State and enjoyed working in Yosemite during the summers. He took a break from college and served in the army from 1954-1957. He received the rank of 1 st Lieutenant and earned National Defense Service and Good Conduct medals.

He married his first wife Patsy Quinn in 1955 and they had 5 children. After graduating from San Jose State with a business degree, he got a job at Crocker Bank and worked as a branch and are managers for 30 plus years. He divorced his first wife and was a hardworking single dad for several years. In 1971, he married the lovely Bernice Appleby who had 4 children of her own and together had the adventure of raising 9 children. George continued working at Crocker Bank and United Security Bank until retirement. He received many branch and area manager awards along the way.

George loved vacationing in Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, and Palm Springs with family and golfing buddies. Recently George and Bernice were members of the Fresno Gyro Club and enjoyed all their activities. George loved listening to Classical and Jazz music and had such an extensive collection he donated CD's to the Fresno State Library so others could enjoy music too. He also enjoyed watching Westerns every day of the week. George generously gave to charities such as Poverello House, Catholic Charities, Wounded  Warrior and St. Jude's Hospital every month.

George is survived by his wife Bernice Buck, 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. George was a man of great faith who loved family gatherings and lived life to the fullest. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. This verse describes how he lived his life:

Proverbs 3:3-4  "Let love and faithfulness never leave you: bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."
