Obituary

Geraldine Riley February 26, 1930 - January 4, 2025 Geraldine Riley, A Loving and Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully in Fresno, California, just miles from where her life began in Reedley, California, at the age of 94. She was the youngest of 7 children, the last of a great generation and era.

Geraldine attended public school, became a Majorette in High School and graduated from Reedley High School. After graduating high school, she worked in the packing houses in Reedley packing peaches before marrying the love of her life in 1951.

After marrying her and her husband settled in Fresno. Years after, having 2 children she entered the workforce as a cook for Fresno Unified School District at Alice Birney Elementary School, while there she became interested in the special education department and became a teachers aid helping deaf children to read lips, before finding her true calling, learning sign language and helping teach children to sign.

She loved baseball and watching her son's play, always making sure they were on time for their games and never missing a game. She loved to sew, knit and crochet.

After retiring from the school district, she worked at Costco as a food demonstrator handing samples out. After her husband retired, they began traveling in their RV which she loved, taking their grandkids on trips to the coast and other places. She loved spending summers at the coast with her husband.

Geraldine loved Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, reading the Bible, attending church and attending chapel at her retirement home. She loved her husband, her son's, her Daughter in laws, her Grandchildren her Great Grandchildren and her entire family, but none as much as Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Benjamin (B A); her son, Patrick Riley; her parents, Claude & Laura Tunnell; brothers, Dale Tunnell and Burl Tunnell; sisters, Dorothy Barnett, Marie Segrue, Charlesetta Weber and Francis Borton.

She leaves behind her son, Steven, and his wife Randi, her grandson Sean Riley, wife Angel, great grandson's Killian and Liam, granddaughter Shannon Lamerson, husband Steve and great grandson Colton, granddaughter Heather Riley, her partner Christian and great grandson Bennett. Granddaughter Stephanie Riley and great grandson Logan. And many nieces and nephews.

She was a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend too many and will be truly missed.
