Obituary

Isidra Cruz Rodriguez was born on May 15, 1930 and raised in a small ranch, named La Biznaga,  Villa de Guadalupe, in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, filled with lots of love from extended family and friends during the 1930s and 1940s. In the mid 1940s she migrated to McAllen, Texas, USA and helped her brother, Antonio, cook and clean, while he worked the hot, humid, Texas fields. She eventually, worked the fields during the seasons throughout the 40s and 50s. She always returned back home to her ranch, La Biznaga and took care of her parents. She got married to my dad, Julian Sifuentes Rodriguez in 1956 and migrated to California and started a family. She worked in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley, packing sheds, and raised the family, throughout the years. 1979 my parents purchased their first home in San Joaquin, CA. She was a devoted Catholic and insisted all her children received an education and promising careers. She was always there for all of us through good and bad times and always leaned on her strong faith and hard work. Both my parents retired in Fresno, 1994. Both of my parents were parishioners of St. Helens Church and kept busy with their house, family and friends. She leaves behind an extended family and friends. Our father, Julian Sifuentes Rodriguez went to heaven in Sept. 10, 2017. She was blessed with nine great-grand children, eleven grandchildren, and her own children, Maria Alcorn, Antonio Rodriguez, Gloria Ramirez, Raul Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, and Rosie Elliott.  She leaves behind her divine faith and devotion to Jesus and The Virgin of Guadalupe. She always resonated her love and kindness to everyone and always shared her home cooked food, tamales, menudo, mole, etc..  She set a good example on how we should treat each other. On March 12, heaven got a little brighter, as my mom went straight thru the heavenly gates! Here on earth we wept and cried for three days, along with the angels, but the storm has passed and now we have the bright sun, radiating with love from our mother in heaven. We, that knew her, are truly blessed on Earth!
