James Robert Chappell June 24, 1941- February 21, 2021 James R "Jim" Chappell, Sr., 79, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021 in Fresno, Ca. Born June 24, 1941 in Barton, Md., the son of James E. and Evelyn (Russell) Chappell. He was preceded in death by sisters Jean McElvie, Martha Clise, Shirley Clark and Bertie Bradley. Surviving are his wife, Marion (Steiding) Chappell, Mariposa, Ca.; son James R Chappell (Tisa); daughter Melissa Ray (Chris); brother Charles Chappell and sister Betty Garey; four beloved grandchildren: James Michael, Christopher Ryan, Riley Christopher and Chance Michael.

Jim graduated from Valley High School, Class of 1959, Catherman's Business School and pursued a very successful career in Executive Banking in Los Angeles, Ca. He loved traveling and working outdoors, especially on his large wooded property in Mariposa. He was a gentle soul and kind family man with a caring heart and a deep love for his family, relatives and friends.
