Joann
Ayerza
July 5, 1941 – August 30, 2025
Elizabeth "Joann" Ayerza
Elizabeth "Joann" Ayerza was born on July 5, 1941, in Newman, California, to Harold and Mary Daggs. On August 24, 1963, she married her sweetheart and soulmate, Tony Ayerza. Together they built a loving home in Kerman, CA, where they raised their two sons, Anthony Jr. and Joseph. Joann's greatest joy in life was her family, and she was deeply proud to be a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Joann was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet, with an unmatched work ethic. She dedicated more than 50 years to Bank of America in Kerman, where she became a beloved and familiar face in the community. Generations of families came to know her warm smile and kind heart at the teller window. Through decades of change, one thing remained constant—her genuine care for every person she served.
Faith was always at the center of Joann's life. She and Tony raised their children with strong morals and values, ensuring their family attended church together each week.
Joann was an active member of the Fresno Basque Club. She regularly attended Basque events and faithfully helped serve lunches at the annual Basque picnic.
Joann and Tony cherished family traditions, especially their yearly trips to Santa Cruz. She loved cheering on her grandchildren at countless sporting events and hosting family gatherings filled with laughter, games, and love. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joann will be remembered for her selflessness, gentle strength, immense generosity, and the joy she found in caring for others.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her parents, Harold and Mary; her brothers, Raymond and Ronnie; and her nephew, Ronald. She is survived by her sons Anthony Jr. and wife Kelly, and Joseph and wife Sonja; her grandchildren Joshua and wife Leslie, and their son Benjamin; Danielle and husband Mitch; Anthony III and wife Mitzi; Brooke and husband Jordan, and their children Blakely and Hudson; Jordan, Heather, Kaitlyn, and Loryn. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
