October 2, 1955 – July 3, 2024
John Abdulla 10/02/1955 -7/03/2024 Born in Huron California to Ali and Lucy Abdulla.
John was a fighter he previously fought his first battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer in 2010.
In March 2024 John was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon/liver cancer he fought a courageous battle which ultimately took his life on July 3rd, 2024. John passed away peacefully in his home with his wife JoAnn Abdulla at his side.
John enlisted in the United States Army, where he served our country as a Combat Engineer for several years during the Vietnam war. After being honorably discharged from the Army, John started his construction career as a union lather. He worked on hospitals schools, prisons all being state and federal government jobs. After suffering an on-the-job injury, John started G&B Mobile Welding Inc to provide for his family. Throughout his time with G&B, John enjoyed working alongside his son Brian, Grandson Joey Touchstone and nephew Erick Hernandez. John was passionate and driven about providing his customers with the best possible service and product. Customers knew when G&B showed up on a job, john and the team would get the job done. Excellent customer service by Gina and Jo Ann.
Outside of working, John enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, hot rods, sports, and sweets. The grandkids would love bringing him on birthdays and special occasions his Marie calendar pies (His daughter in law's cookies where also one of his favorites). In his later years, John started every day with taking his fur babies on walks around the neighbor hoods. His positive qualities made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.
John was his happiest when his family and friends were gathered around eating carne asada burritos and having a good time.
John is preceded in death by his father Ali and mother Lucy Abdulla. His sister Norma Flores and his beloved security dog Nitro. We can rest easily knowing that he is once again reunited with the many family members and friends that passed.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years JoAnn; daughter Gina and husband Sean Touchstone; and Son Brian and wife Kathleen Abdulla. he leaves behind three grandsons; Joey Touchstone and his fiancé Alena; Sean Touchstone jr. and Phoenix Abdulla; One granddaughter, Monique Touchstone husband Ignas; and one great grandson Easton Touchstone; John is survived by his brother Allie and wife Alberta (Birdie) Abdulla; sister Katherine (Katie) Abdulla ; Brothers in Law Michael Flores and Richard Hernandez; sisters in law, Mary Gloria Maldonado, Viola and husband Greg Martin; God son Daniel Rosales Jr. God Daughter Deanna Bartels; John was surrounded by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends compadres comrades ; to include his beloved German shepherds, Zoey and Alpha.
Johns' wishes were to be cremated, to honor John's life a memorial service will be held on Monday July 29th, 2024, beginning at 9AM at Yost and Webb funeral home. (1002 T Street) Fresno, Ca. following the memorial service a procession to Washington Colony Cemetery (7318 S. Elm Avenue) for full burial with full military honors will occur. A celebration of life will take place after the graveside services at American Legion, Post 509 (3509 N. First Street).
