John was born on May 31st, 1928, in Tulare, CA to Kasper and Siroon Hovannisian. He passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2022, a few weeks before his 94th birthday. As the oldest of four brothers, John was a natural leader. He worked alongside his father at his barber shop and eventually they worked side by side investing in real estate and ultimately transitioned into real estate investing full time, closing the barber shop. On February 3rd, 1952, John married the love of his life, Vars Bedrosian and they remained married for 70 years until his passing. They made their home on the family's land in Tulare where they raised three sons. Everyone that met John felt his heartfelt warmth as he embraced everyone he met with a hug. His work ethic was not as obvious, but John worked until the moment he passed away, leaving opened mail on his desk and circling property in a brochure that he found interesting. John was preceded in death by his parents Kasper and Siroon Hovannisian, his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Marian Hovannisian, his sister-in-law Vartiter Hovannisian, His sister-in-law Roxy Lingenfelter and her husband Orin, and brother-in-law Edward Bedrosian. He is survived by his wife, and loving companion, Vars Hovannisian, son John Hovannisian Jr. and his wife Karen, son David Hovannisian and his wife Linda, son Gary Hovannisian, sister-in-law Diane Bedrosian, brother Richard Hovannisian, brother Vernon Hovannisian and his wife Carol, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and scores of nieces and nephews.
