John Kecskes, was born in a small village in Hungary to Imre Kecskes & Julianna Habinyak. After 2nd grade he had to quit school to help his family work in the fields as a share croppers. He joined the Hungarian Army and after leaving the Army he married our mom, Ilona Kecskes. They escaped during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Austria was accepting refugees, 2 years later moved to Canada, then 10 years later the US accepted them and they moved to Hollywood, California. He owned a liquor store. Then later owned a butcher shop. A lot of movie stars would come and buy meat. After the butcher shop he started doing Sulky Sales & Repair business. He was an avid fisherman and went fishing with his son, John frequently.
John’s sense of humor, contagious smile, and his love will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ilona Kecskes, son, John Kecskes, daughter, Ildiko Scott, grandsons, Marc Tullio, Brian Tullio, John Kecskes III, Dimitri Kecskes, Jacob Scott. Great granddaughters, Emmie Kecskes, Addilyn Kecskes & great-grandson, Hudson Kecskes and brother Joe Kecskes
