John (Giuseppe) Ettorie Roberto passed away April 9, 2022 at the age of 91. John was born on January 4, 1931 to Sylvia Maggoria Roberto and Ernesto Roberto in Oakland, Ca. John was the first member of his family to be born in the United States. His older sister, Josephine had been born in Italy.

John spent his early life living in Oakland where as a boy he helped his father make wine and wash windows in San Francisco for his father's window washing business. He later attended Patten University and received a doctorate in theology. Upon his graduation from Patten he took on ministerial duties and served in that capacity for a few years.

In his thirties he met Sandra Fischer in the choir at Melrose Baptist Church. They were married for 43 years. (Sandra preceded him in death in 2009) After working in the Bay Area for the Boy Scouts of America he transferred to Fresno and continued his work for the Boy Scouts until he retired from the Boy Scouts to devote more time to his real estate and electrical careers.

While living in Fresno John became active in Kiwanis, church, real estate, teaching, and many other volunteer endeavors. John was always willing to lend a hand to help others.

John was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his son Daniel, and his grandson Ryan. John leaves behind his daughter Elizabeth Roberto-Rodriguez and her husband David, his son John and his wife Alison, his grandsons Cameron, Jacob, Noah, Nicholas, and Vincent. John also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people at The Grove at San Joaquin Gardens for caring for John during the last several years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kiwanis Children's Fund or the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
