Kathryn ( Gaxiola ) Ama visca was born on April 19, 1955 in Fresno, Ca to parents A urelio & Isabel Gaxiola . Kathy, also known as Nini, was raised in Santa Clara, Ca and graduated from Santa Clara High School. Following high school, she attended cosmetology school. Upon graduating, she returned to Fresno to begin a career as a beautician and manicurist . Her warm welcoming personality and sharp eye for style helped her accumulate a vast list of clientele that kept her in high demand throughout her career. Kathy served her clientele at local b eauty shops in Fresno until she retired in 2011. In addition to her career, she was also a foster parent. She opened up her home and provided much needed love, stability and structure to children in need.

Kathy is survived by her brother Richard Gaxiola of Fresno, Ca.; Nieces Roxanne Mirelez, Carolyn Lopez, Jolene Del Rio and Monica Leggett; Nephews Danny Atilano, Mark Gaxiola, Richard Gaxiola Jr., Max Gaxiola and many grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Aurelio Sr. and Isabel Gaxiola; Sisters Rebecca Uribe and Yolanda Gaxiola; Brothers Aurelio Gaxiola Jr., Robert Gaxiola, Joseph Gaxiola and her beloved canine companion, April.

In 2006 Kathy married Samuel Amavisca. They later divorced but she stayed close to him until he succumbed to illness. April helped Nini through the difficult time after Sam's passing.

Nini enjoyed music, dancing and cheering on her "Raiders". As our family has grown over the years and as each new baby arrived, she would always be there to welcome and hold the precious little gifts. Nini always enjoyed having her family and friends close by and spending time with them.
