Kolton Kirkpatrick
Carter
October 7, 1998 – June 12, 2022
.
A man leaves his mark on the world by those he touched and inspired. The memories he leaves behind will be carried on long after his mortal life has ended. After a long and tormented battle with PTSD after proudly serving in the US Navy, Kolton Kirkpatrick Carter sadly ended his life on June 12, 2022.
Kolton was born in Visalia California on October 7, 1998. His family moved to Monterey County in 2000 and settled in Sacramento California in 2008 where he graduated from high school. He attended Jesuit and Mira Loma High School where he played football and rugby. He loved the outdoors, including snowboarding, camping, surfing and travelling. He loved adventures and was always ready to travel and experience something new at the drop of a hat.
Kolton was a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, husband, father and sailor. He joined the Navy soon after High School and served as a Master-at-arms and Aviation Ordinanceman Airman. He was deployed to Afghanistan and served time on board the USS Abraham Lincoln. He touched the lives of so many, some who have reached out to the family after hearing the sad news. Kolton would be so proud to know that he mattered to so many, and it makes our hearts happy and proud as well.
There are not enough words to describe the wonderful, caring and kind spirit that Kolton was. He was fiercely proud of his parents who are Police Officers. He loved his family, friends and was so proud to serve his Country.
He is survived by his parents Kelly and Patrick McCoy and James Carter; his siblings Chase Carter, Madison McCoy and Olivia McCoy; his grandparents Valarie and Kirk McCarty; Patty and Bob McCoy; Sherri Bollinger and the love of his life his son, Wyatt
