Larry Warren Johnson, beloved son of Elvira Broughton and Warren Johnson, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2023. Larry was born on July 21, 1949 in Merced, California. He attended Merced High School where he met Deborah Hewlett. They married in April of 1968, and welcomed their first born, Lori Kay, in May of 1969. Jeffrey Warren followed in 1971, and Jennifer LeAnn arrived in 1975. Larry and Debbie shared many years together before divorcing in 1982, but have remained friends throughout their lifetime.
Larry's career path led him to the life of a police officer, beginning in 1975 in Atwater, California as a Reserve. He then became an officer for the Livingston PD, with Gustine soon following. After a short move to Oregon, he began working for the Firebaugh Police Department. Dos Palos is where he settled his family and patrolled for many years. Eventually, he became Sergeant for Table Mountain Rancheria before developing his own private security company, Live Oak Security. Upon his retirement he filled part of his spare time as a CCW Permit Instructor.
Our father, as many know, was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Being in the mountains was a great passion of his, which led to a much bigger passion....his belief in Bigfoot. He created a sense of wonderment in his many friends and family members that have listened to his countless encounter stories, which we will all treasure forever. Dad absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends, creating many precious moments we will forever carry with us.
Later in life Larry re-met and fell in love with Kathy Wyman. They married in 2021 and although they only shared a handful of years together, they created many wonderful memories for Kathy to hold in her heart forever.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Johnson and grandson, Colton Johnson, his mother Elvira Willis, and father Warren Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Lori, son-in-law Larry, and Jennifer, son-in-law Jeff. Grandchildren Tera (Vanessa), Ty, Tiffany, Triston, Blake, Caden, Michael (Nathalie), Matthew, Julianna (Jeremy), Bryan, and Reese. Great Grandchildren Ashton, Lucas, Melody, and Maddie. Brothers Stephen Johnson and David Johnson. Uncle Hickman Johnson and family. Lifelong friends Dan Moore and David Brown. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
