Our beloved father, Leon E. Borunda, passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by his loving family.

Leon was born in Fresno, California, to Leo and Rachel Borunda. Together they raised three children; Helen, Leo Jr. "Jay" , and Leon E. Borunda. Leon attended Central High School and briefly studied at Heald College before beginning his career with the USDA as a meat and poultry inspector, where he faithfully served for more than a decade.

Leon was a beloved father, grandfather, and man of faith, known for his passion for cooking and his dedication to serving the Lord. He cherished family above all and created lasting memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by his son, Leon M. Borunda and his wife, Griselda, along with their children Emma, Noah, and Adam. His daughter, Sarah C. Baker and her husband Bryant, with their children Maeson and Kaeton. His daughter, Deanna M. Borunda. His sister Helen and brother in law Roman Gonzalez. As well as many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Yost & Webb Funeral Home, followed by a private interment.  A luncheon will be provided after the service for family and friends to gather and celebrate Leon's life.
