Linda Westrick, a long-time resident of Sanger, California, passed away peacefully
at age 76 on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, George
and Dorothy Eakins; her loving husband, Jack Westrick,
to whom she was married her entire adult life until his
unfortunate passing in 2010; and her precious grandson Mikey O'Reilly.
She is survived by her four adult children and their spouses: Jackie Ponek of
Pensacola, Florida, Kelly Damchik of Stafford, Virginia, Kari O'Reilly of Ellicott
City, Maryland, and John Westrick of Sanger, California.
Linda was the proud and caring grandma to 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Karen Bonomi, of Fresno, California, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was a Sanger High School graduate Class of 1964; worked at the Sanger phone company; retired as an IRS supervisor; and loved her role working with her husband in their antique business, J & L Antiques. Besides all that, Linda was also a homemaker and one of the nicest people you could ever meet. She enjoyed reading, playing "her farm," and watching her Hallmark movies. She kept her feisty sense of humor until the end when she announced that she wanted her headstone to say, "Killed by Bears," and then giggled and said that no one needed to know that they were the gummy variety. That's our mom!
A graveside ceremony will be held on November 21 at 10:00am at Fresno Memorial Gardens; followed by a reception to honor her memory and celebrate her life.
