Lloyd Corbett
Thatcher
June 14, 1947 – December 12, 2025
Lloyd Thatcher, born June 14, 1947, passed away leaving behind a legacy of dedication, generosity, and unmistakable presence. A man of deep loyalty and strong convictions, Lloyd touched countless lives through his work, his service, and his willingness to help anyone who needed it—often with nothing more required than a phone call.
Raised in Easton, California with his sister and cousins, Lloyd was the son of Lloyd and Pearl Thatcher and the grandson of James and Verda Thatcher. He attended Roosevelt High School in Fresno, where he met the love of his life, Diane. They shared 57 years of marriage, a partnership built on devotion, resilience, and shared history. Together they raised their daughter, Sara, who was a source of immense pride. Lloyd is survived by his wife Diane Thatcher, daughter Sara Thatcher, sister Lynden Adair, and puppy Brie.
Lloyd was an Eagle Scout, a distinction that reflected his commitment to leadership, service, and preparedness—qualities he carried with him throughout his life. He played a major role in the development of the Cal North Soccer League, contributing time, energy, and vision to the growth of youth soccer in Northern California. He was also highly active on the board of directors of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) during the 1980s and 1990s, where his influence and dedication were widely respected.
Lloyd owned and operated the Lloyd C. Thatcher Company, a landscape contracting business, for over 20 years and later served as Service Manager for Central California Electronics. After retirement, he revived his business doing Timeclock and Valve Repairs.
Lloyd was a lifelong enthusiast of Mustang cars, a passion matched only by his love of collecting watches and books. His collections were extensive, meticulously cataloged, and a testament to his love of order, history, and craftsmanship. An avid reader, he took pride in his well-organized library and could always recommend a book worth reading.
He was a big man with a big personality, a booming presence, and a famously spirited intensity that made his passion unmistakable. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a respected professional, and a steadfast friend whose impact will be felt for years to come.
