Lola Lee
White
January 27, 1949 – May 16, 2022
Lola Lee White, 73, of Fresno, CA, entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2022. She was surrounded by family. She was born to parents Thomas A. White and Virginia D. White, on 27 January 1949 in San Diego, CA. She lived in various locations such as Hawaii and Virginia as her father was in the Navy. She referred to herself as a "Navy Brat". The family settled in San Jose, CA. Lola was the fifth child out of seven siblings.
She attended Overfelt High School in San Jose, CA. She was in the marching band and played the triangle. She also played the cello. Lola loved performing in her school's talent shows, lip syncing and dancing to the song, "Big Daddy". She would have been in the class of 1967 but she met the love of her life, Laren Quaill and married on June 15, 1965. In the few years following, they started a family. Sadly, In 1967 she lost her twin sons at birth. In 1969, she had her first daughter, Kimberlee. In 1974, she had her second daughter, Raquel.
Lola was a homemaker for many years, looking after her two daughters. After her marriage of fifteen years ended in divorce, she went to cosmetology school.
Lola graduated from West Valley Beauty College in the early 1980's. She passed her state board exams in San Francisco with the top score in her class. She was awarded her license for the state of California. She then became an instructor and taught cosmetology for about a year. Unfortunately, she only worked as a hairdresser for a short time as she had a severe reaction to the chemicals.
Lola was passionate about being a mother. She volunteered in both her daughter's numerous activities. She was a Girl Scout mother, room mother and teacher's aid. She loved to sew and create the girls Halloween costumes every year. Lola loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved all animals but had a special place in her heart for birds. Last but not least, Lola had a special gift for poetry. She enjoyed writing and sharing her insightful messages. Her favorite poem she wrote was, "The White Dove". She believed it was a gift from the Holy Spirit.
Lola was blessed with a grandson, Michael in 1989. Followed by two granddaughters, Breanna and Jessica in 1991 and then along came her third granddaughter, Savannah in 1998. She absolutely adored them. She was a huge part of her grandchildren's life. She was blessed again through the years with 9 great grandchildren. She loved her new title, "Gigi".
Lola is survived by her two daughters, Kimberlee [James] Arnold, and Raquel Reed. Brother, Lloyd [Cecilia] White, grandson, Michael [Anaiss] Quaill, granddaughters, Breanna Philley, Jessica [Johnathan] Subia and Savannah Owens. Great grandchildren, Cataleya, Jayden, Jolene, Julianna, Julian, Jocelyn, Leilany, Arianni and Michael Jr.
Lola was preceded in death by her sons, Brett and Bart Quaill. Parents, Thomas and Virginia White. Sisters, Sandra Smith and Evelyn Talbott. Her brothers, Robert, Bernie and Michael White.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on July 15, 2022 at Yost & Webb Funeral Home located at 1002 T Street, Fresno, Ca 93721
