On September 30, 2021 Lonnie Sloan, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at his home in Fresno, CA from bone cancer at the age of 79.

Lonnie was born on July 19, 1942 in Camas, WA. He was the first born of 4 children to Ben and Jean Sloan. Shortly after he was born, they moved to Bridgeport WA where the Columbia River, wheat farming and fishing were central to life.

He married his wife Sandy Driessen in 1959 in Brewster WA. Lonnie and Sandy moved to Pullman, WA in 1962 to attend Washington State University. They raised 3 children, Scott, Shannon and Ryan.

Lonnie received his B.S. in Agronomy in 1964 from Washington State University. He then started in sales for DuPont Ag Products with territories in Twin Falls, ID, Spokane, WA, Yuma AZ and Fresno CA. He became the sales team western district manager for California, Arizona and Hawaii in 1983. Lonnie managed 11 sales representatives for 25 yrs. as a beloved leader and friend to all that worked for him including DuPont corporate employees and customers. He always had each of the teams' personal interest at heart. The Western region flourished under his skilled leadership and many times led the nation in sales for DuPont Ag Products. His sales team and all those he worked with in western agriculture will truly miss Lonnie.  Lonnie retired from DuPont in 2004 after 40 years.  He was a hardworking man and a great provider for his family.

Lonnie truly enjoyed life. He enjoyed fishing, playing pickle ball, traveling with his wife in their motorhome and spending time with family and friends.

Lonnie is survived by his wife Sandy of 62 years, his 3 children, Scott (Sara), Shannon (Karl) and Ryan (Amanda) and his six grandchildren, Emma (Nate), Eli (Maddie), Kaylee (Brett), Olivia, Logan and Evelynn. Lonnie is also survived by his brothers, Gary Sloan (Diane) and Bob Sloan; sister, Judy Sloan; brother-in-law Gary Driessen (Glendal); brother-in-law Elmo Cook and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Lonnie will be greatly missed by all.
