It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Malisa Ervin on July 7, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on April 27, 1972, Malisa devoted her life to serving others, as a beloved mother, an exceptional educator, and a woman whose compassion and intelligence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

For more than 25 years, Malisa dedicated herself to teaching, where she inspired generations of students through her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in their potential. Her work as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher was especially meaningful to her, as it honored her mother’s journey and reflected Malisa’s belief that language and education open doors to opportunity, belonging, and hope.

The daughter of a proud United States Marine, Malisa grew up with a deep appreciation for this country and the values of service, perseverance, and gratitude. She carried those values throughout her life and passed that same love of country on to her own children, teaching them to cherish the opportunities they had been given, to work hard, and to live with integrity.

While she was an extraordinary teacher, her greatest calling was being a mother. Malisa was a fierce advocate for her children, Cameron and Marisa, loving them with unwavering devotion and always putting their needs before her own. They remain the truest reflection of the love, strength, and character she instilled in them.

Brilliant yet humble, Malisa possessed an infectious curiosity and a generous spirit that made everyone around her feel valued. Whether she was in the classroom, with family, or among friends, she encouraged others to believe in themselves and celebrated their successes as though they were her own. The countless students whose lives she touched stand as a testament to her remarkable gift for teaching and her unwavering commitment to helping others reach their fullest potential.

Malisa is survived by her son, Cameron Ervin; her daughter, Marisa Ervin; and her sister, Minako Adams. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy lives on in her family, the generations of students she inspired, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Malisa’s life at a viewing beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, with the funeral service immediately following, at 1002 T Street, Fresno, California 93721.
