Manuel Floriano Rios was born May 21, 1920 in Colton, CA to Cruz Rios Sr. and Luz Floriano Rios and died October 9th, 2021 in Fresno, CA. He was the third of seven siblings; Cruz, Margaret, Dora, Eladio, Lucy and Sally. Manuel grew up in the Colton area but the family would move between Colton, Las Vegas, and Utah as his father worked in the mines. Manuel felt it was duty to join the Army during WWII and was first sent to the Aleutian Islands. Later he joined the 82 ^nd Airborne and was sent to Germany for the final days of WWII. Following the war Manuel met and married Aurora Rodriguez. They had two sons, Michael and James and lived briefly in the Los Angeles area before moving to Indio, CA where they raised their family. Manuel was in the auto body repair business for many years. Following the deaths of his wife Aurora (2008) and two sons, Michael (2012) and James (2015), Manuel moved to Fresno and lived his remaining years at the Central California Veterans Home where he was treated with great care and kindness by all the staff. Manuel leaves behind a number of nephews, nieces and their families along with many wonderful memories with Rios family members.
