Maria Guadalupe Sermeno Hernandez better known as "Lupe" to many was born August 10, 1952 in Fresno, California. Lupe was the eldest daughter of Benny and Guillermina Sermeno. On January 22, 1971 Lupe married Elias Hernandez Jr. this January they celebrated 50 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Fresno City College and worked as a teacher's aide at West Park Elementary for many years. Throughout the years she also worked as a daycare manager for multiple day cares including The College Care Center and Hansel & Gretel Day Care.

Lupe loved her oldies, always singing and dancing to every song. She was a very creative women she enjoyed making gift baskets, holiday crafts and much more. Another favorite of hers was yard saling, whether it was shopping at them or having one of her own she was always ready. Lupe's favorite place to go was the casino, Table Mountain or Chukchansi she loved her penny machines. Family was very important to her she would always make sure to call all her children and grandchildren on every holiday or birthdays or even just to say, "Hey what did you do today?" or "What did you make for dinner?".

Maria is survived by her husband Elias, her five children Elizabeth, Elias, Lisa, Andrew, and Dolores, 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
