Mark Arthur Gallistl was born on May 12, 1954, in Fresno, California, and passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, also in Fresno. Mark was born to Frank and Eleaner (Anderson) Gallistl. He attended local schools, graduating from Fresno High School in 1972 and Fresno State College in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in history. Shortly after graduating he accepted a job with Sears, working in customer service. He enjoyed the worked and stayed with the company until his retirement in 2016.

Mark met Margaret Mazmanian at a Fourth of July party in 1989 and they married the following year in Fresno. They have one son, Alexander (Alex), who was always the love of their lives. Mark enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including history, antiques, and classic cars. Mark's greatest joys were his family and friends. He loved getting people together for parties and barbecues. He is also known for his quick wit, vast knowledge of history and trivia, and exceptional story-telling ability.

He leaves behind his wife, Margaret, and son, Alex, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Margaret and Alex are exceedingly grateful for all the support and prayers during his illness and passing. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 24, 2023, at Yost and Webb Funeral Home, 1002 T Street, Fresno, California 93721, followed by a luncheon reception at Holy Trinity Armenian Church social hall, 2226 Ventura Avenue, in Fresno. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 7491 N. Remington Avenue, Suite #101, Fresno, California 93711.
