Marvleen "Marvie" Belle (Kokoruda) Bell
August 1, 1952 – September 2, 2025

Marvleen Belle Bell, lovingly known as Marvie, passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 1, 1952, in Fresno, California, Marvie grew up surrounded by a large, lively family. She was the quiet child of six, yet smart and devoted. Her cousin Michael shared "as a child Marvie always made sure all the cousins were included when they did fun kid things, such as building forts with blankets and patio furniture."

Marvie graduated from Central High School in 1970. That same year, she married David Bell. Though they later divorced, they remained friends, raising their children together with love and mutual respect.

She is survived by her children: David Bell (Joy), Karen "Bell" Burrington (Robert), and Elizabeth "Bell" Bertoldi (Brett); and her grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures: Devon Bell, Jordan Burrington, Kayla Burrington, Riley Bertoldi, Brandon Bertoldi, and Copper Bell. Marvie also embraced her blended grandchildren with the same unconditional love, building a special bond with each of them: Andrew Eguia, Adam DelaVega, Brittney Wollert, Gavin Dale, Viviana DelaVega Bella McKeough, and Kayelee Bertoldi. To Marvie, there was no distinction—every grandchild was deeply loved, celebrated, and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Anita Kokoruda, and her siblings Robert Kokoruda, Pam Kokoruda, and Richard Kokoruda. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Shirlen "Kokoruda" Vish, Russell Kokoruda (Cassie), and Jimmy McKnight (Perri).

Marvie built a remarkable career, always bringing her dedication and skill to every role she held. In her younger years, she managed both Kentucky Fried Chicken and Short Stop, later going on to work at the Hall of Records department with Fresno County, for many years. She then spent more than a decade with Clovis Unified School District as a resource specialist, where her support and care touched many lives. In the later part of her career, she joined Costco, eventually retiring to embrace her favorite role of being a full-time grandmother. Wherever she worked, Marvie was admired for her dedication and generosity.

Marvie's most treasured accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and her greatest joy came from being present in their lives. She had a love language of giving—whether through thoughtful gifts, encouraging words, or simply offering a smile. She cherished holidays and family gatherings, filling each with memories which her family will forever cherish.

She is described by her children and grandchildren as being generous, loving, silly, always supportive, whether through quiet strength or loud laughter. She was strong and compassionate, thoughtful, and unapologetically honest—never afraid to speak the truth, but always quick to forgive. She believed deeply in equality, treating everyone with kindness and respect. Her playful side made her funny in the best way. She enjoyed simply being in the same space with her family but also wanted to be as involved as possible. An example of this would be the way she is described by her grandson, Brandon (5 years old), who says "Grandma was the best hide-and-seeker" because she was always willing to play his favorite game anytime he asked her to.

Memories from her sister- Shirlen- along with nieces and nephew—Monica, Stephanie, and Stanley—echo the legacy she leaves behind:

"Aunt Marvie was a beautiful, loving, caring, very generous woman, mother, and sister. She believed in family first and will be truly missed. She opened her home to family as well as others. She always carried a smile on her face and made sure others were blessed with the same smile. Marvie was involved in so many of our memories. Whether it was holidays, playing cards, building forts out of refrigerator boxes on the back porch, or just ordinary days living across the alley, she made everything feel fuller and warmer. Her family will think of her often and miss her greatly."

Her legacy lives on in every memory cherished and every life she touched. Her family will carry her spirit forward, remembering her joy, her humor, and her unwavering love. Marvie will be missed more than words can say, but she will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
