Obituary

Mary Beltran Mata was born April 24,1936, in Fresno, California, to  Jesus Sr. and Eufemia Beltran. A beloved, proud, and devoted, sister, mother, grandmother,  great-grandmother, aunt, and friend Mary passed peacefully on July 26, 2026.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, and selfless generosity. She was a woman of remarkable quiet strength and wisdom, hardworking in all she did, facing life’s challenges with grace and determination. Yet always willing to give of herself to others. She was a constant source of support and encouragement to those she loved, celebrated their accomplishments, and was deeply proud of the people they became.”

She loved music, dancing, reading, sewing, sketching, and more importantly family. Family was always at the center of her heart. Nothing gave her more joy than when family gathered to celebrate the moment.

Mary is survived by her three beloved children, David Vasquez, Ofelia Vasquez Pettross, and Luz Moreno, whom she raised and loved as her own; her grandchildren, Sheree’ Thomas, Lea Vasquez, Christina Burnett, Sky Vasquez, Anevay Vasquez, Joseph Jr. Pettross, Kristopher Pettross, Esteban Moreno, Ignacio Jr. Moreno, Felipe Moreno, Monica Moreno, Victoria Moreno-Zaragoza, Alexis Moreno; her 21 great-grandchildren; her brother Victor Martinez and his loving wife Jenny. She also leaves behind her nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends that she loved and cherished deeply.

Thank you, momma, for giving so much of yourself to us. Life with you was not only beautiful and a proud honor, but one of God’s most cherished gifts.
