Matilda Escobedo
Rangel

Matilda was born on March 15, 1933 in Jerome, Arizona, a small mining town at the time. She was born at 8:20 A.M. to Pedro Lomas Escobedo and Estefana Rodriquez Del Toro, both from Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico.
Matilda grew up with success in mind, not knowing what path would lead her there, but being the first generation of American citizenship opened up many door for her as well as for all women in the early years of the 20th century. She explored many opportunities to learn and grow to become the person she was.
For those who knew her, know that she shared a special bond with you, letting you discover her in your own way as well as discovering you.
Matilda found the man she married while working at a poultry company. He was Raul S. Rangel. They were married on the 28th of July, 1956, they were both 23 years old.
They had four children and had a small upholstery business and were very successful. The marriage lasted for over 50 years. She is now joined again with her husband for eternity.
Matilda, even though a wife and mother, continued to make her mark in the world. She became a secretary for the County of Fresno Health Department, an assembler for Quickie, which is now Sunrise Medical, a carrier for the Fresno Bee, and was involved in a few community organizations.
All of her hard work, her dedication to family and willingness to help everyone is recognized even to this day.
