Maxine
Harabedian
June 16, 1926 – November 13, 2023
Maxine (Summers) Harabedian, 97, went to be with the Lord on Nov.13, 2023. She was born in 1926 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Maxine was the 5th of 7 children born to Leebah and Myrtle Summers. She moved to Fresno in 1947 and later that year married George Harabedian. She worked from 1947 until 1983 for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph which became part of AT&T.
She had 2 sons. Randy, who was adopted from the San Carlos Indian reservation when he was only 10 months old. And, Roger, who was a surprise when she became pregnant at 41.
Maxine enjoyed life and had many experiences. Her granddaughters loved her stories of the boyfriends she had when she was young. Maxine enjoyed traveling and visited many countries in Europe and Central America. She lived through many significant events in our country including: the great depression; World War II; the Korean Conflict; Vietnam; and more. She witnessed many types of changes: outdoor to indoor plumbing; few cars to plethoras of them; country schools to modern computers.
She is survived by her son Randy, her son Roger and daughter in law Paula and their daughters Trianne, Clarissa, and Janae. She is preceded in death by her siblings (Louise Yazenski, Leslie Summers, Glenda Brading, William Summers, Mildred Jones, and Betty French), her husband George Harabedian, and her grandson, Thomas Harabedian.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 18. 11:00 am, at Belmont Memorial Park.
