Obituary

Michael Chardukian

January 11, 1964-August 15, 2024

Michael Hatcher Chardukian was born in Racine, Wisconsin, to Gene and Marie (Tanielian) Chardukian, on January 11, 1964. Michael grew up in Racine. He was an active member of the St. Mesrob Armenian Church, served on the altar, and was involved in  the ACYOA youth group.

Michael met his wife, Darlene Ouzounian at the ACYOA Convention. He moved out to California and settled in San Diego. In 1990, Michael and Darlene married, and spent a few years enjoying the beach life. They moved to Fresno and raised a family. He began working for Fresno Distributing and began a career in the plumbing supply industry. Later, Michael moved to Ferguson Enterprises, where he worked and became a Branch manager. He loved all of his customers and prided himself on his customer service. Michael loved being a part of the Ferguson Family.

Michael was a member of the St. Paul Armenian Church in Fresno, where he enjoyed participating in the activities and helping with their picnics, festivals, and other events. Michael was also a proud member of the Knights of Vartan Fraternal Organization. He loved the  comradery and friendships that he was able to establish and strengthen in this organization and he especially loved their annual camping trips to Dinkey Creek.

Michael and Darlene have three children, Lauren Chardukian, Marina (Chardukian) and Gevorg Papikian, and Jonathan Chardukian. Michael enjoyed his last week with his family, getting the opportunity to drive a racecar and fishing with his son at Dinkey Creek, surrounded by his Knights of Vartan brothers.
