Obituary

Michael Abraham Corbitt

Michael Abraham Corbitt was born on July 28 th , 1979 in Bakersfield, Ca. After 15 days in Kaiser Permanente Hospital being treated for double pneumonia caused by Covid 19, Jesus took him into his loving arms at 4pm on Friday, September 24 th , 2021.

Except for 3 years in Bellflower, Ca. Michael lived all his life in the Fresno & Clovis area. As a child he never sat still. He played soccer and baseball, took piano lessons and enjoyed playing tennis, racquet ball and handball at Fresno High School. He loved to snowboard although he had not had the opportunity to go for the past few years.

He had various jobs from McDonald's fry master, professional ice cream scooper, pizza delivery driver and pizza chef, Jukebox music master to retail but his last one was his favorite. He worked for Cricket for a little over 13years total as a retail sales rep and then an Indirect Sales Executive where he oversaw multiple stores in the Central Valley area. He loved his coworkers and would always beam with pride when his 'doors' were crushing their goals.

One of Michaels favorite things in the world to do was spend time with friends and family. He loved to get together and go to dinner, watch movies or just hang out talking. He loved music and always offered to DJ at parties. He was always happiest being with the people he loved. He was always loving, humble and loud, a larger-than-life presence. He was not the type of person you forget. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He loved to tease people especially his sisters Jennifer and Anna, sister's friend Aimee, wife Kathryn and daughter Serenity. He was opinionated, yet a tender gentle giant. Even as a child he was not ashamed to give or receive affection from his loved ones. He was always the first to cry at the sad parts in movies. He was a big old teddy bear.

He gave his heart & life to Jesus at the age of 6 and followed Him all his days. He wanted his life to glorify God and loved to talk about the Lord with everyone. He was very involved in his church Grace Place, serving on the Worship team, Security team, Children's ministry, Ushering and Mission trips. He spoke Spanish fluently. He loved to use his gift to serve the Lord by translating for the teams on the 16 mission trips that he served on throughout his life.

Michael was introduced to the Walk to Emmaus ministry by his dad, Jerry and step mom, Janet when he took his walk in the fall of 2001. He participated in every walk that he could after taking his own. He loved everything about Emmaus, especially the community of people.

He was a man of God, precious son, husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Kathryn & Serenity Corbitt; father and step-mother, Jerry & Janet Corbitt; mother and step-father, Lucy & John Frost; sister & life partner, Jennifer Alejos & Angel Allen; step-brother and sister-in- law, Jason and Shanna Frost; step-sister and brother-in-law, Anna and John Wall; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, David and Michele Smith; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Andrew Smith and Renee Vasquez; Brother-in-law Matthew Smith and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved like family.
