Obituary

Michael Alan Reiter was born September 3rd 1966 in Fresno Ca to Edward and Carolyn Reiter. He passed away peacefully April 21st 2023 in his home after a heinous battle with cancer that he fought valiantly from the day it began down to his last hours. Michael is survived by his wife Tammy, daughters Marla and Morgan, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Ryann and Ryder, his sister Dana, father ED, his in-laws Pat and Leon Lake, brother & sister-in-laws Darin & Georgette, nieces Lauren & Natalie, and nephews Steven & Nolan.

Michael was born and raised in Fresno attended Kratt Elementary, El Captain middle school and Central High School where he played baseball and football but his love was dirt track racing which he started at the age of 5 in quarter midgets and then graduated to micros at 16. Michael and the Reiter family spent countless weekends at racetracks over his youth.

Michael met his soul mate Tammy at the ripe old age of 13 and they were then forever Mike and Tammy. You could not say one name without the other. Mike and Tammy married November 1988 and bought their first house that same year. In December 1990 they were blessed with their first daughter Morgan. A few years later they built their forever home on a family lot and were blessed with a 2nd daughter Marla May of 1993. He was all about family and was involved in whatever his girls were into. Early on Tammy ENCOURAGED Michael into taking on a softball coaching position which not only allowed them to spend family time together but share their passion for the sport. Coach Mike was known and loved in the softball world for his knowledge of the game, positive attitude, and dedication. Everyone wanted to be on his team or take hitting lessons with him. March 2017 came a new role PAPA to Princess Ryann and exactly 2 years later his mini me and tribute to his namesake Ryder was born. His love for his 2 grandbabies was evident from the day he found out his role was changing from Dad to Papa. His excitement for this new chapter of his life could be heard in his voice and seen on his face but was dimmed only slightly when he took on the only fight he ever had in his life CANCER.

Michael was taught at a very young age welding and fabrication from a close family friend Sherman Conner which Michael worked for crafting his trade for many years. After starting his family Michael took on a new career with Martin's Dairy Service and for the next 25 years serviced dairies throughout the Valley. Michael took pride in his work being the best in the business and could be counted on for his strong work ethics, perfectionism, knowledge and desire to get the work done right the first-time. He could troubleshoot his way through any kind of machine and if he did not know would spend countless hours until he solved the issue not just put a patch on it and leave it for someone else to do. He was committed to getting the dairy up and running no matter what.

Michael made one final career change to The Wine Group September of 2016 where he went from doing all the labor himself to more of an advisory role where he was still utilizing his vast mechanical and parts knowledge along with his desire to share with others his strong work ethics, knowledge and experience. Little did we know but God's hand was truly at work in this move. Not only did he love the job, he loved the people. Michael was all about family and friends and he truly cherished his Work family. He hit the ground running and never looked

back. What a blessing this group was as Michael was diagnosed with cancer November of 2017. He continued working through it all, never complaining and always missed his work family when he had to take time off.

Our family would like to thank The Wine Group for your compassion, and support. We cannot say enough great things about the TWG family and how much we appreciate you all for being so good to Mike. Special thanks to Rhonda, Karen, Mike, Andres and Carlos.
