Michael Armenak Vahanian, 73, passed away peacefully on November 25th, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
Born on March 1, 1951, in Turkey, Michael was a man of great character, strength, and kindness. At the age of 16, he left his home to join the Greek Merchant Marines, driven by the desire to support his parents. At 20, he immigrated to the United States. Throughout his journey, Michael was known for his commitment to his family and his work. He dedicated over thirty years of service as a hotel night auditor, working diligently to provide for those he loved
Michael was a devoted husband to his beloved JoAnn Vahanian, a proud father to Jennifer Vahanian, and a doting grandfather to Noah.
Throughout his life, Michael was passionate about traveling, going to visit his family in Turkey, Greece, and France often. He enjoyed playing the board game "Okay" with friends. He also enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, JoAnn. Whether through his unwavering support for his family or the joy he brought to his friends, Michael made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Michael's warmth, generosity, and wit will be greatly missed. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church on December 20, 2024, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Michael's honor.
