Murel Albert
Morgan Jr.
November 1, 1968 – August 26, 2023
Murel (Mark) Albert Morgan Jr was born on November 1, 1968 to parents JoAnn & Murel Albert Morgan Sr. in Brinkley, Arkansas. Mark was the 2nd oldest of 9, Barbery Ann being the eldest, following after Mark were Jacki, Jack Jr., Lisa, Michelle, Michael, Susan, and finally Denise.
The family lived in Clarendon, Arkansas during Marks childhood. Marks mother Joann remarried to Jack Dugan, and during Marks teenage years, he moved out to Vacaville, California to be with them.
After the family relocated to Reedley, California, Mark attended Reedley High School, where he would go on to meet Suzanne (Suzie) Nichole Teasley. Mark and Suzie began dating October 11, 1984 and they would go on to get married November 21, 1987 in Clarendon Arkansas where they would live for several years. Mark and Suzie together had three children; their firstborn Murel Albert III (known as 'Bud') born 1985, their second child Monica Renee born 1988, and their youngest child Christopher Michael, born 1990. The family moved back to California together in 1993.
Mark made careers in many varied fields. Mark was the epitome of a "Jack of all trades". Over the years he operated his own scrapping and demolition business, which the entire family participated in. Most of marks working life was spent as a construction and soils testing technician. When asked what he did for work, Mark would often respond that he "got paid to play with dirt". After many years in this field, Mark's health began interfering with his ability to work, and he eventually would have to retire from full time work. For several years after this Mark was able to work in the mountains and forests for his friends Joe & Debbie at their logging company.
Over the course of his life, he enjoyed many activities including fishing, hunting, playing with his grandchildren, traveling, and camping. Perhaps his very favorite past time, was pestering friends and family for fun and playing practical jokes on them; no one was safe from his antics.
Following numerous years of battling heart disease, and other chronic health issues, in the summer of 2023, Marks health deteriorated to the point he had to be hospitalized. He died on August 26th, 2023, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by both parents, Murel Sr. and Joann, his sisters Barbery Ann and Michelle, niece Victoria Lacy, and grandchildren Jordan and Avery.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne; his children Murel Albert III ('Bud'), Monica Renee Sorensen and her husband Andrew, and Christopher Michael; and his grandchildren Jasalyn, Ryler, Landon, Kie, Zander, Kailett, Leona, Christine, Liam, and Reagan.
