Peter H. Beckmann

November 10, 1944 - September 6, 2021

It is with saddened hearts that we say goodbye to a treasured husband, father, grandfather (opa), uncle, and friend who passed away on September 6, 2021. Peter Beckmann, known around town by many as "Bar-B-Q Pete" lived a life loving his family and serving others. Born Hans Peter Beckmann in Lubeck Germany on November 10, 1944 to parents Hans Richard Beckmann and Irmgard Sophie Amanda Helene Beckmann , was raised in Fresno CA from the age of six on. Peter purchased and ran the restaurant Round Up Bar-B-Q at the tender age of nineteen and had over a forty year successful business run. Peter was a hard worker and proved that passion with determination can lead to success. Peter was also known for his love and skill of dirt bike riding and made many memorable trips over the years with friends and family to pursue this beloved hobby. Peter was loved by many for his compassion, kindness, and patriotic heart; he is deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hans and Irmgard Beckmann and his sister Ingrid Novak and her husband George Novak. He leaves behind his loving wife Gina Beckmann, daughters Melanie Samples (spouse Adam Samples) and Malia Beckmann (fiance Joshua Pett); granddaughters Rihanna and Kalista Samples; nieces Ann McCoid (spouse Steve McCoid) and Diana Cox (spouse Randy Cox) as well as three grandnephews and one grandniece; and many more who miss and love him greatly.

A memorial service will be held for friends and family at Fresno Sunny Side Seventh- day Adventist Church on Friday October 15, 2021 at 6:30 pm. 5375 N Maroa Ave Fresno, CA 93704
