Obituary

Peter Toomajian, 95, of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully, with his
children by his side on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. He was born March 16,
1930, in Clovis, California, the son of George (Krikor) and Isabel (Zabel
Sukeosian) Toomajian.
He attended Washington Union High School, graduating in 1948 and was
granted a football scholarship to Cal Poly. He then returned to Fresno to
continue his education by attending Fresno City College where he played
football and met Geraldine Schulte, who became his loving wife of 57 years.
Soon after he joined the Navy and was stationed at San Diego, where he
started his family. He was then honorably discharged October 28, 1954 and
returned home to Fresno to become a dedicated family man. He spent his
career as a Heavy Equipment mechanic, in which he traveled throughout
California working on logging and earth moving equipment. After the family
moved out to the ranch he began farming part time until he retired, and then it
became his full time occupation.
He is survived by his children Karen James, Ronald Toomajian and wife
Gloria, David Toomajian and wife Sheri, and Jennifer Toomajian. His
grandchildren Gabrielle Hemphill, Robert Toomajian, Brian Toomajian and
Alexander Toomajian along with his great grandchildren Amelia Wood and
Ava Wood.
He was known to family and friends as a hard worker and fun loving
prankster. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations to Pismo Beach every
year, fishing in the mountains and boating up at Shaver Lake. In addition, he
enjoyed playing Pinochle on Friday nights with his friends and Bowling
League every Thursday, and took great pleasure in attending farm auctions
and estate sales.
A private, family graveside service will be held in his honor. We appreciate
your respect for our privacy during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, send
donations to Hinds Hospice or your favorite charity.
