Obituary

Remo began his life in the middle of WWII in war torn Italy. Remo's early life experiences included hiding with his family in a hidden cave nestled in his mothers arms. Although Remo’s father died when he was very young he was nurtured by an extended family and friends. As a result of the love and support he was able to pursue many of his life endeavors. Remo saw the possibilities of being able to work on ships and left the permanent job with the military. He became an Italian merchant marine at the ripe age of 19 and continued working on ships until 1983. He then began a career at UCLA facilities where he worked until his retirement in 2007. He was an innovator and builder. He would look at things and understand how they worked and would replicate them. He was also known for his creative improvements to equipment. In 1981 he met his wife Jo Ann and they raised their two wonderful children Monica and Eugenio “Oogie”. Remo was a special father that always encouraged his children to excellence. He was able to see the birth of his two special grandsons Enzo and Elio, and was their loving Nonno. He is survived by extended family in both Italy and California.
