Richard Hector Cortes passed away on Jan. 28, 2021. He is survived by his parents Richard Cortes and Jean Cortes, his brother Robert Cortes, his three daughters Margeaux Duclos, Briana Duclos and Aliah Marden and his grandchildren Christian Duclos, Julien Duclos, Jade Houston, Charlotte Houston, Dylan Baldwin, Zane Duclos and Kai Marden.

Richard Cortes' early years were spent on the East Coast, mainly in New Hampshire, where he acquired a love for nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and spending time in the woods. After he graduated high school he spent the rest of his life pursuing his dream of being a musician. He wrote many beautiful songs, created music and produced several albums. Music was his passion and he never gave up on his dream. He moved to California several years ago and had many wonderful experiences performing live at different venues around Los Angeles. He had three children, seven grandchildren and many beloved pets over the years. He was full of life, unique stories and many exceptional experiences.

Richard will be remembered for his eternal love for music, his larger than life personality, his incredible sense of humor and his deep spirituality. He touched the hearts of so many and was someone you could not easily forget. He always made an impression. Richard will be remembered by his loved ones as a very powerful and beautiful presence. He will be treasured and missed deeply. May his soul be at peace.
